We recognise that, upon leaving our school setting, some young people have plateaued in their ability to sustain educational progress. The priority for these young people is the opportunity to flourish socially and whilst enhancing their communicative intent in a safe environment with peers of a similar age.

This is the core purpose of our Grizedale Centre, a unique setting and opportunity for Loyne school leavers from 19 – 25 years of age.

Here, young adults have opportunities to experience a range of activities aimed at developing social and communication skills through facilities both within the local community and other familiar environments. The holistic needs of the individual service users are considered and a bespoke package is offered that caters for their physical, social, emotional, health and wellbeing needs.

Where appropriate, Grizedale enhances vocational and entrepreneurial opportunities working alongside existing and new community employment links to develop skills that can be applied in a range of employment settings.
